The whole Arkansas River, and new limits on the White

Twelve locks and dams on one card, buddies who can ask about a day in the app, and a note on the White River rules that change November 1.

By Corey Boelkens · Changes through October 22, 2026 · RSS

Friday note

This week Pocket Fishing Guide learned the Arkansas River. Every lock and dam from Trimble to Norrell is on one strip, each pool reads the Corps every hour, and Ozark Lake has a page of its own beside Lake Dardanelle. If you fish a pool, save it and the latest read follows you.

Buddies grew up too. Open a buddy's calendar, tap a day, and the ask goes to them in the app with the read for your water beside it. They answer with one tap, and once you are both in, the day goes on your calendar.

On the White from Bull Shoals Dam down to the Norfork access, you can keep two rainbows a day now, and anything 14 inches or longer goes back. On November 1 the water just below the dam closes, and browns are catch-and-release through the state park. Check the water's page in the app for the rule as AGFC posts it.

Anglers who chose the Friday email in the app get this note there, with their own water's week, the dam's week by the hour and anything new since they last looked. This page is the public copy.

The regulation lines are from Corey's note in the Friday digest for 2026-10-23 (Pocket Fishing Guide), which quotes AGFC.

The whole Arkansas River on one card, with a week of release

The Arkansas River page now opens with every lock and dam on one strip, like the Buffalo's: the release from the lowest dam to the highest, which pools are rising or falling, and a week of daily release for the pool you tap.

Ozark Lake has its own page

Ozark Lake, the Arkansas River pool behind Ozark-Jeta Taylor Lock and Dam, now has a page of its own like Lake Dardanelle: its signals, forecast and species, with the lock and dam on the Tailwaters tab.

    Make the map bigger

On the Live Waters Map, a button beside the zoom controls fills your screen with the map, its card and its legend; press it again or Escape to come back. The dam card now gives its access points the full card width, so their names read whole.

Each Arkansas River pool shows its own lock and dam

Pick a pool on the Arkansas River page and the Tailwaters tab shows that lock and dam alone, laid out like the Bull Shoals dam card: the pool against normal, the release, what it means below the dam, and Upstream and Downstream to step along the river.

Arkansas River pools, tailwaters and locks on the map

The Arkansas River page now lists its twelve pools, each with its level and its dam's release. Pick one to see its lock and dam, or open the Tailwaters tab. Each lock and dam has its own pin on the map, and a pool's Map button goes to its dam, not the middle of the river.

Arkansas River pool levels now update every hour

The Arkansas River pool cards on Waters now read the Corps every hour: each lock and dam's pool level, which way it moved over the day and the dam's release, with the time of its own reading. A pool that misses an hour says how old its reading is.

  • Most visits arrive with no referrer, which on a phone usually means a shared link or a saved home-screen app. Google sent 27 visitors, talewatersandtides.com 19, Facebook 25 across its hosts. Tagging the links we share is what will make this chart readable.

Progress dashboard for both businesses

One private page reads Pocket Fishing Guide traffic and accounts, Tale Waters and Tides leads, Google Analytics and Search Console week by week, with a plain-language line under each chart. Partners get a trimmed view by link. The numbers on this page come from the same sources, read by hand until the dashboard is wired in.

Partner field playbook

The sales kit for outfitters, guides, marinas and tackle shops is an internal page: segments, scripts, the pack checklist and a day-by-day route. Partner pages, open days and the booking panel live in the app.

How you can help

Small things that move the numbers above.

  • Anglers

Open your water, then type your email under its read to get the Friday email. Reply to it with one thing it should do better.

  • Anglers

Invite one person you fish with. Buddies see each other's free days, never where you are.

    Your profile →
  • Guides, outfitters, shops

Set up your listing and post your open days. Anglers see them on your page and in the Friday email.

  • Business owners

The lab runs on public data feeds, scheduled refreshes and AI agents that draft while a person decides what ships. If that shape would help your business, book a call.
